LOOK 1: THE MOON JAR

The “Moon Jar” is a Korean traditional ceramic that resembles the shape of a moon. Because of its large shape, the vase has to be made in two parts: the top and the bottom. Due to the process of making, it creates a symmetric illusion, but it is impossible for the vase to be the exact same, much like the characterisitc of a parent to a child. I referenced artworks from my own heritage to reprent how my identiy is alike my parents, but not the same. Bias gown with open back and cowl front. Chiffon with cotton lining to create a reflective sheen like a porcelain.
